AJIJIC, MEXICO - A typical apartment and Ours.

Having a friend who lives in Mexico is a great motivator for taking trips there. He lives in the wonderful area in Jalisco that offers a great view of the largest lake in Mexico, Lake Chapala. This is a view from the long stretch of windows in our apartment above our friend Terry.

Ajijic is like Denver, a mile high city. It is south of the equator with weather similar to Hawaii's. This view from our window catches the corner of our balcony and looks down on the city of Ajijic passed the lake to the Sierra Madres. This is the rainy season so you can see the clouds are heavy.

Entering our apartment you walk along the full stretch of windows, past the second bedroom with built in desk, drawers and lots of storage plus its own bathroom and then you reach the living room, desk area and into the dining room and kitchen that you can see in the distance.

Our bedroom, the largest, is off the living room and includes its own bathroom with step down shower, two large closets and lots of space.

This shows one side of the living room. The dark sofa is L-shaped and stretches along the adjacent wall. Two chairs, coffee table, and fireplace enhance the room and beyond the TV is the shelving to hold computers and any other desk objects needed.

Through the open doors in behind the sofa is the entrance to our bedroom and bath.

One of the most interesting things in our bathroom beside the sunken tub and shower is the window over the sink.  Notice the lovely view. You are looking at a mountainside which gives you an idea how this particular section of the city is built. This apartment is in Villa Nova.

The dining room is next to the kitchen and divided by an island.
I love the southwest color scheme used in these rooms.  You'll notice the same decor in the kitchen.  We enjoyed this apartment and are now spoiled with all the space and magnificent view.

Thanks, Diann - we did have a great time. It was my second visit there but we stayed in his place the last time -- only one bedroom so I felt bad that we kicked him out of his room. This was much better -- and we enjoyed seeing more of the beautiful area. . .and such good food. : )
